Two of the questions I hear most frequently at DimAllure are "What is the difference between skin boosters and Profhilo?" and "Which one should I have?" The short answer is that they are different treatments with different strengths, and the right choice depends on what your skin needs most.
What they have in common
Both skin boosters and Profhilo use hyaluronic acid. Both are injected into the skin. Both improve skin quality rather than adding structural volume.
That is where the similarities end.
How skin boosters work
Skin boosters deliver micro-deposits of soft, flowable hyaluronic acid across the treatment area. The primary mechanism is hydration, flooding the deeper skin layers with moisture.
Skin boosters: 1–3 sessions spaced 3–4 weeks apart, results 6–9 months. Excellent for dullness, dryness, fine lines, lack of radiance.
How Profhilo works
Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid of any injectable product, formulated very differently. It uses a patented blend of high- and low-molecular-weight HA that triggers four distinct types of stimulation: collagen I, collagen III, elastin, and fat cell support.
This is why Profhilo is classified as "bio-remodelling" rather than hydration. It structurally remodels the skin’s tissue.
Profhilo: 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart, results 6–9 months.
So which should you choose?
Choose skin boosters if your primary concern is skin dullness, dehydration, rough texture, or a lack of glow.
Choose Profhilo if your primary concern is skin laxity, loss of firmness, or an overall loss of skin elasticity.
Can you combine them?
Absolutely. Some patients benefit from alternating between the two, or from using Profhilo as the foundation treatment and skin boosters for targeted hydration maintenance.
Pricing comparison at DimAllure
Skin boosters from £250 per session (1–3 sessions). Profhilo £450 per session (2 sessions). Both offer a planning benefit when the full course is booked together.

Book Your Consultation — £50Can You Have Both?
Absolutely — and many patients at DimAllure do. Sculptra and fillers are highly complementary. A common approach is to use Sculptra to restore structural collagen across the temples, cheeks, and jawline, then use a small amount of filler for precise, targeted enhancement in areas like the lips or tear troughs.
Summary
- Timing: Fillers are immediate. Sculptra is gradual.
- Longevity: Sculptra lasts longer (up to 24 months).
- Reversibility: Fillers can be dissolved. Sculptra cannot.
- Mechanism: Fillers add volume. Sculptra rebuilds collagen.
- Best use: Fillers for specific areas. Sculptra for structural support.
At DimAllure, consultations are £50 and fully redeemable against your treatment — so there is no financial pressure and no obligation to proceed on the day.
